End of an era for James Watt Tools

Mumme Tools today announced the re-branding of their popular punch and chisel product range from James Watt Tools to Mumme.

Established in 1938 in Melbourne by Mr. Albert Watt and purchased by Mumme Tools in 2008, the James Watt Tools range has ensured Australians have been able to purchase a locally made product that is correctly heat treated, hardened and tempered for the ultimate in durability and robustness for decades.

As part of the re-branding, the product range will focus heavily on punch sets. The new punch sets will feature a shelf attention grabbing, fully zip enclosed durable fabric pouch with clear front panel. Individual punches will continue to be available in bulk quantities.

“The new punch sets will provide a clear point of difference in a market dominated by generic plastic packaging”, says Greg Lowe, Mumme Tools Managing Director. “James Watt Tools has been synonymous with high quality, engineering-standard punches and chisels for decades. We are excited to be incorporating the product line into the trusted Mumme brand and look forward to offering the same superior quality that our customers have come to expect”.

Shipments to stores commenced this week, with the product available nationally.

Mumme Tools is a manufacturer of Australian-made, quality forged hand tools. The company has a proud history of local production dating back to 1936.
